Thrift store gold-mine

I went to the thrift store today--I almost didn't because there wasn't anything I really needed and I AM trying to save money--and they were having a 50% off sale. I bought 3 suits, a three-piece set(blazer, pants, and skirt), two skirts, and two blouses for $6. I bought so much because the stuff is a size or so smaller than what I am now, and as I am DETERMINED to lose weight, I can use them as a motivator! Plus, I needed some nice clothes for church--I just started going again and have been wearing jeans, which I don't feel is appropiate(for me--I don't care what others wear, so please don't get offended if you happen to wear jeans to church). I figure I just got the majority of next year's wardrobe for 6 bucks--all the things I got can mix-n-match with the majority of the stuff I already have. Can't beat that! Okay--I'm off to gloat over my treasure!

Great finds!!

I had a couple of good finds 2 weeks ago. I found two practically brand new winter coats to fit my daughter and my youngest son. One was $3 and the $5!

AND just the other day I was in WalMart and they had those 8x10 picture frames they normally sell for 2/$5, they had them on sale for $1 a piece! I bought tons of them LOL

Flea Markets, Thrift Stores,...

I love haunting the thrift stores.I also enjoy flea markets and the "every thing is a dollar" stores. I went the other day to a place called Name Brand Clothing. Most thrift stores don't usually carry my size ( 3 to 4X and 26/28 pants- and that is after losing 13 pounds! ) that the pants legs don't look like they were cut in the time of high water so I go to NBC. They carry clothing they bought in lots from clothing stores and catalog marketers; just look them over real good for pulled threads, bad zippers. sewing mistakes, dye goofs, and tears. Since I was down to 3 pairs of slacks with the seat rather thread bare in all of them I had to go. I was able to get 1 bra, 2 Roman's brand tops, and 3 pairs of slacks for $36.85. I also saw a beautiful dress for $12.00! I'll keep watching for a clearance sale, but I do miss their $.99 sale store

Yep--I know what you mean about being a "hard-to-find" size--for a long time I had to pay top dollar for clothes because the stuff I could find at yard sales, etc was stuff I wouldn't be caught dead in!

I'm excited today--tomorrow the same store is having a $1 bag sale--I will be there early, as soon as ds1 gets on the bus for school!

My frugal finds....

Hey Kimmyo,
I'll start! I have a couple of finds that I wanna rave about. Last week I did some clearance shopping at JC Penny's. I got about 6 nice pieces of fall/winter clothes @ about 75% off. I was thrilled with my new sweaters and sweatshirts and even more so cuz they were all in the range of $3-7 ea. . These are nice quality and good brands stuff....everyone go and check out those clearance racks!
