As I recall, she covered some shabby wooden tv trays in contact paper and uses them as end tables next to her sofa. There is a little shelf at the bottom with some books on it. I'm not sure if she added the shelf, or if it was part of the tv tray to begin with. Nobody knows it was a tv tray in it's previous life because it fits right in as an end table.

I'd have to ask her for the details. I'll post them when I do.

shabby chic tricks

HI! I'm new at this! I have an idea for you, well actually a few. i found long( or tall ) windows. there were two sets. I crackled both sets, one with a sage green base color & the other one with a chocolate base color. I hinged the windows together, sewed some material panels( in a country designs)& put them on cafe rods in the back & taada... Roomdividers! White paint is a popular color for shabby chic. Hope this helps

Trash to treasure..

Hi. My husband and I were driving home the other day and saw that someone had two pair of shutter style closet doors out for the trash so I told him to stop and pick them up. I am going to clean them up and paint them and make a screen out of them to put in daughter's room. I was so excited because I was just saying how I wanted to buy some old shutters to do just that with and now I don't have to buy a thing! I love when things work out that way!

I am always looking at what people have out for the trash and thinking what I could use to make things for my house to decorate with or whatever. People throw away the neatest things sometimes!
