Fruit flies

Fill a small glass or dish with vinegar and add a few drops of dish soap. Put it out on the counter and it attracts the little buggers.

Kell,

That trick sounds interesting, have you personally tried it to see if it actually works?

Blessings,

I don't know if she has, but I am going to try it on my porch to see if it will attract regular house flies.

Make sure the vinegar is Apple Cider Vinegar, DebK, posted this trick, it really does work awesome, I put a small dish on my counter, covered it with plastic wrap, and poked holes in it. Later on there was dead fruit flies in it, it attractes them for some reason! Hugs

I tried the apple cider vinegar and soap in a small lid last night. Had 4 fruit flies around it, none of them dead in the vinegar, but haven't seen them at all today so far.

Did you cover it with the plastic and poke holes? What happens is they go into the vinegar and drown and cant get out when you do that. It has worked every time for me, and I hate the things too, lol. Hugs

Sandie,

LOL! didn't know that covering it with plastic was the key. Maybe the fruiters went to tell there friends I put out a free dinner for them. LOL

lol, I kind of thought you didnt use the plastic! I havent seen one fruit fly here, all day, guess they heard about your "free meal" !! Every one I have told this to has captured the things, last week I got about 7 of them, havent seen another one. I have no clue where they come from, we jkeep fruit in the fridge too, its not like Ihave it out on the table. Hugs

I have caught them doing as I posted. I used white vinegar. When "the season" rolls around again, I will try with apple cider vinegar and the plastic wrap. Anything to get rid of the little buggers. :sunfl:
