liquid fabric softener or sheets

Do you use liquid fabric softener, sheets or both?

I like Gain detergent and I use Downy liquid fabric softener.

I use Downey wrinkle reducer on my clothes and cheap dryer sheets on my towels. Every three washes, I use vinegar in the wash cycle instead of the Downey to get rid of the Downey build-up. I use 1/2 a dryer sheet then to dry them.

I use a Downey ball for the vinegar and just fill it to the line on it just like using Downey. There is no smell left over or anything. This cleans out the Downey ball too.

I use a little more vinegar with my towels because they are pretty big and thick.

Tami

I will have to try that. I seem to use Vinegar and baking soda for a lot of my cleaning situations. (I am chemical sensitive) Never thought of that.
Good Idea.
Thanks

I put fabric softener in the wash when I have clothes that I'll be hanging to dry. In winter I hang them on lines in the basement, the rest of the year they go out on the clothesline. But if I'll be putting the whole load in the dryer I use 1/3 of a store brand fabric softener sheet. This is PLENTY even in winter! I put about 1/2 liquid fabric softener and 1/2 water in the dispenser in my machine. Occasionally I put in some vinegar and water and clean out the dispenser this way. I do notice a slight vinegar smell to my towels when I do this....maybe a little less next time?

I use High Efficiency Tide Liquid for my front loading washer and Ultra Downy. I really like how well liquid detergent cleans and the smell and softness from the Downy.

I LOVE my front load machine, it is so easy on the clothes and cleans better than a top loader too. The spin cycle is really great too, clothes come out much drier, so the dryer is quicker too.

Jenna -- I have been using high efficiency Tide in my top loading machine since it has been out ( I haven't gotten that modern yet...) or been able to afford a front loading machine, but I really do like it as it doesn't suds up like the others and gets the clothes really clean!! Another tip... if you ever have some greasy clothes, or bad grassy stains like my son gets on his jeans just for the heck of it I tried the Dawn Power Dissolver(for dishes) in the spray bottle, and it works wonders I have told several family members about it and friends and they use it now also!!
