How often do you wash clothes per week?

I'm starting to feel like we are outta control with clothes, towels..etc..to the point where I am washing a couple of loads of clothes everyday. This wouldn't bother me if it was somewhat organized ...but its not!

I'm wondering how everyone else does it? Do you pick one day a week to wash everything or certain days for certain things? or even a load everyday?

I normally do wash at least 4 days of the week. I keep 3 "too ratty for bedroom use but still usable" hampers in my basement. I sort: white, heavy duty, and "not white & will dry on the clothesline."
I will not wash less than a full load. With 5 of us in the house I ALWAYS have a full load, LOL!
I would probably say I average 3 loads of laundry per laundry day, or 12 per week for 5 people, including towels (2 times a week) and sheets (once a week). Dish towels and dishrags are changed daily--or more, if they get really grubby before dinner.

I think I also have more laundry because the kids wear uniforms to school, and then change into playclothes. So I have their uniform shirts each day, bottoms every other day, and the daily playclothes--if it's a nice day and they're outside, they get dirty. Even the teenager! Plus DH changes out of his work wardrobe when he comes in, and I have his "play clothes" to wash also. Luke and I are the only ones who don't change our clothes during the day!

I do 1-2 loads a day. Sun I change the sheets & wash them. Mon I do dd's clothes (if she doesn't sort them I do them all together), Tues is ds's (he's only 2 so I don't sort them). Wed is my colors, Thurs is whites (mine & dh's), Fri is towels, & Sat is dh's colors (I don't like washing his work clothes with mine).
Sometimes I have to do an extra load if something happens & we go through extra clothes. For the most though, this works for us.

I do two loads per day. One light one dark. Mondays, I do three loads, as that is when I wash the bedding.

This is a ritual I started years ago, when we didn't have a dryer, and only a washing machine. I found that if I skipped a day, it would rain the next day, and than I would have way too much clothing that would take me days to get caught up with. And now I have stuck to that method, just because it works for me. Now, I don't fold the wash everyday, like I would like to!

As soon as I have enough for the wash load I wash. It is just easier for me if I keep on top of it.

I have a friend with 8 children. Now, that woman has laundry!

So, whenever I think about my mole hill I think about her mountain! It helps me get through it.

I wash 2-3 loads every 4 days. I like to do mulitiple loads together to piggyback the dryer to save a little on the electric bill.

My sister who hangs 90% of her laundry does 1-2 loads every day at her house.

RobertaD I am so looking forward to my clothes line. DH is putting one up for me in the back yard. I haven't had one for years.

If I can do it daily in the morning, I don't get behind. We have 4 kinds of wash: jeans, towels, whites, darks/colors. We probably do 10 - 12 loads a week for a family of four, 3 of which are in sports.

I personally wash clothes everyday. But I work at home, so that's easy for me to say ;-) My older kids (12 and 14) do their own laundry, I instituted that rule when they hit 6th grade.

I do laundry Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. I do about 8 loads of week, not including bedding.

I do the laundry while my hubby and son are at work. I actually like doing laundry for my family. LOL
