carpet shampooer

I need to buy a carpet shampooer. Does anyone have one they love? I don't want to spend much since I have very little carpet but with animals these carpets need to be cleaned!

Bissell Proheat 2x Carpet Cleaner

Just bought the Bissell Proheat 2x carpet cleaner. It heats the water to steam clean the carpet. The detergent is in a separate dispenser from the water. Mixes as you select how dirty the carpet is. So far we like the bissell had the hoover. The real problem with carpet cleaners is animal hair clogging the machine. Have to vacuum real good before cleaning. Maybe it will be better to just buy a spray cleaner or foam and brush it in than vacuum?
