I use the plastic coffee cans to hold my compost materials until full then I take out to the compost pile. I also use the cans when I scoop the cat's liter box and when full it goes in the trash.

You could decorate the coffee cans and put a couple holes in the bottom then use as a flower pot.

I add a little water to the pump soap dispenser each time I refill it. Right now I'm using a body wash in the pump that I had gotten for free.

I put the shampoo and conditioner in pump bottles (and just keep refilling) and add a rubber band on the pump so it doesn't go down all the way so we don't use more than we need.

I use both Dawn. Right now trying to figure
out what to use my large Oatmeal boxes for. Just finished
one this morning.
I use the large Pork Skins containers Gina gets to hold my
wild birdseed, corn cobs, peanuts lol and my measuring cups
Actually that one was Judy's idea. My cookies are in them
too. I have lots as they go thro' a lot of pork skins. And
instead of putting in recycle Judy brings them over here.
Think I will put my gravy mixes in the Oatmeal container
I can not make gravy that even a dog would eat so have
to use the pkgs

So many great ideas! Thanks for sharing them.

P.S. Nice to see others compost, too.

I have recently decided to use baby washcloths for cleaning up baby instead of buying baby wipes, then just wash and dry the washcloths to re-use for the next time.. Those baby wipes can get expensive when you're changing two who are in diapers. I think every little step helps in the journey to return to old fashion living.

We don't drink coffee maker coffee, but I do use instant some. I keep those jars and used a bunch of them this Christmas to put homemade trail mix for gifts.

I keep gallon ice cream buckets and use them for all kinds of storage.
I even used them for some of the teen boys to put their goodies in for a gift. I have my driveway salt in one too.

If you get those big popcorn cans during the holidays save the can. I store extra flour and sugar in them, and used to use them for bird seed - now I use an aluminum trash can, since I can't use it for trash here anymore. (We have special plastic ones now)

Cottage cheese, sour cream, cool-whip containers (or any other kind) are great for leftovers. My favorite thing to use them for is to send home food with others, and I don't expect them back.

HI PATTI - We had a great Christmas - hope you did too!!!

We had a good Christmas too Cheryl

I would be composting if I was able to have a
veggie garden but can't. I do put coffee grounds
around my azaleas, banana around roses

Hi Ladies,

How's the old fashion journey going? Yesterday we were able to buy an old fashion treadle sewing machine. (Praise the Lord)

Hi Miss MP,

Yes! it is a Singer. It is old, but the treadle and sewing machine function well. I just need a new belt for it and possibly someday repair the cabinet.

Sounds Lovely, Mom! I particularly love the cabinet style machines, because of all the drawers for storage.
