Caramelized Pumpkin & Pear Crumble

2 large Pears: peeled, cored &cut into 1/2 inch cubes
14 Tbs. butter
1/2 c. maple syrup
1tsp. vanilla
2tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2-15oz. cans of pumpkin puree
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. walnut pieces

In nonstick skillet over medium heat, combine pears, 4 Tbs. butter, maple syrup, vanilla, spices. Cook until pears are tender, 9-10mins. Add pumpkin, cookfor 1-2 mins.

Place flour, brown sugar, and remaining butter in bowl. With Fingers work butter into dry ingredients. Add walnuts.

Heat oven to 375. In 9x13 inch pan spread pumpkin mixture, sprinkle topping over it and bake 40-50 mins.

Serve warm and top with a dollop of whipped cream.

This recipe makes a different dessert for Thanksgiving and it reminds me of pumpkin pie, without the crust.

Enjoy!
