Apple Pie

6 Jonagold apples, peeled, cored, & sliced
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup of flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. butter
1 egg

Preheat Oven to 400 degrees

In a large mixing bowl toss the apples w/ lemon juice. Combine the sugar, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add the apples toss until completely coated. Set mixture aside.

Transfer the apple mixture into the pastry lined pie plate (I use the pilsbury pie crust they taste great and I totally s**k at making my own ). Cut the butter into small cubes and add to the top of the apple mixture. Put top of the crust on and seal & flute the edge. Cut slits on top to allow steam to escape.

Make egg wash (just beat the egg) and brush onto top of pie.

Put aluminum foil on pie and bake 25 mins. then take the foil off and bake an additional 25 mins.

I made this for my fil who is very picky and not shy at all to tell you if he doesn't like something and he absolutely loved it. If he had it his way I would have to make one everytime he finished the last one off .
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did it is especially great with vanilla ice cream on top.
