These are all great ideas!!

DS's teacher received 3 gifts on Wednesday including one from our family. We gave her a book to add to her library for her future kindergarten classes. He loved story time in her class and she has helped to open up his eyes to the joys of reading.

She got 2 plants too!

I know that she also loves Barnes and Noble so the gift certificate to the bookstore is a great idea.....sneak in a gift certificate to their snackshop too.

If you want something more personal, include their families in the gift certificates too.

You could do a gift cert. for an ice cream shop and include the family.

We also wrote his teacher a letter telling how special she was to him and thanking her for working together with us to help him become such a great student.

My son said that she cried when she read it.

As far as a plant or a starter plant...so you have a spider plant that has any shoots on it...transplant the off shoots or babies into neat decorated small pots...plants cost nothing if you hae them or know someone that does...then get the dirt from somewhere like Big Lots, $ store, etc....may cost a buck with plenty left over...and you can find small pots there too...and if you want you can take a marker and put their name on it and decorate the pots up...

We have posted several craft items in the craft section...you might want to check some of them out...another idea is to schedule some time to come into the classrooms and offer to take over to give the teacher an extra break...maybe to go somewhere and eat a quiet lunch...or to go over her class schedule, not have to take it home...offer your time for helping with testing...or other events they might have such as here they have a full day of doing outside activities...sometimes that gift of your time is more meaningful than anything else...

To think that my son was in kindergarten when I wrote this and now he is heading to 8th grade. How time flies!!

All of these tips still work wonderfully. Please remember to thank your kids' teachers. Teachers are such a big part of their lives and they deserve to be thanked for all of their hard work.
