Humble Expecting Mommy!

I recently found out that I'm expecting my second child. I'm really excited but very nautious at the moment (13 weeks). Looking forward to the end of the first tri-mester.

My sister in law (from NC) is coming tomorrow with her 1 month old. We are trying not to tell her as we're afraid she might think that we're trying to still the thunder away from our family and the excitement they have over her baby!

It's going to be tough trying to pretend that I'm not sick and not contagious

I hope that the morning sickness is over soon. I was sick all day long with my son for 4 months and then it went away.

If I were you, I would let your SIL know how happy you are for her and tell her how much your niece means to you and then share your good news with her. The stress with covering up morning sickness is not good for you and you deserve to be just as happy as she is. She might surprise you and be totally thrilled. This is a great opportunity for hand-me-downs! If she doesn't take the news well, don't let it worry you. It shouldn't be a competition, instead it should be a celebration!!

I hope that you have a wonderful visit with her!!

Keep us up-to-date on how you are doing.

I agree 100%.
YOU have the right to be happy about this and not hide it. it isnt like you could actually plan this and say ok im goin to get preg now and bam it happened. My goodness, if she cant be happy as well for you then its HER that needs to grow up and realize its a happy time for you and deserves to be recongnized! TELL!! its your family and baby, celebrate it!!

Congrats on your good news.
I think she'll find out sooner or later and may be upset that while she visited you you didn't share your news with her?
It's a happy time for you too.

I found out I was pregnant with my first child the week before my sisters wedding. I too was worried about stealing her thunder. So, she was the only one I told. I even told her that it was her special day and I didn't want to announce anything until after the wedding.

She was thrilled for me and did help me fend off drinks while the wedding party was out and about.

I waited until she left for her honeymoon to tell my mother and father.

That was sweet of you not to "steal her thunder" and likewise her helping you on the "drinking" bit during reception. I take it you are in VA somewhere.
I will take what I am served knowing someone out there is being served MUCH less
