Anyone here familiar with the Lake City, Fla. area?

Once again we are looking at another possible area for Dh's job.

Im looking to get some opinions on the area, cost of living, cost for renting ( 2bedroom), schools, lifestyle.

If anyone can help me, would you please PM me with any info.?

Thanks so much!

Tami

Lake City,Florida

Lake City is about a 40-45 minute drive from where I live in Live Oak. You have both "city and country" living. Your best bet would be to contact the Chamber of Commerce and the local newspaper, Lake City Reporter. You can also go on line to get the information about the schools, there are both private and public. This area is a slower pace than your big city. Hope this information helps.

I'm about an hour 15 minutes from Lake City. I had to drive there a few times when my doctor transfered there. It is like cacc described both Country and City living. I lived in Live Oak when I was small but don't remember alot about it. Your best bet is to do what cacc suggested and contact the Chamber of Commerce and so on. Hope you get some good news!~Pam C.
