any crafters on Ma?

Hi, my name is pixie
This is my first time on this forum. Was surprise not to see anythings on this forums. Is there anyone out there from Ma state? Who into crafts or ects? I am just learnig to do crafts and I can sure use some help and ideas on what to do and hear other on what they are doing? And, how they got into it. I am thinking of starting my own crafts. But, I need help from others how they did it?

We are like flowers. If we don't water the flowers.
We don't grow.

Question pine cones

I have pinecones dropping off my tree in the back yard.
Any ideas what I can do with them? Also, do I need to spray them with anythings? To keep them from breaking down (shedding)?

Pixie,
I'm making fire-starters for Christmas gifts out of pinecones. Basic directions are: Tie or glue on a length of candle wick. Melt candle wax in a double boiler, add color and scent if wanted, then dip the pinecones by holder the wick and completely covering the pinecone. To get a good amount of wax you may have to dip, let set, then dip again. Roll in table salt while wax is still setting for a white flame. I found all sorts of hints and directions on the PineCone lady site. Here's the web address:

Have Fun crafting! Remember It doesn't have to be perfect you just have to like it.

Laura
