Thumbs up WASHINGTON - Kitsap area

Hi! I am Jennifer *** and I just returned home last May (Memorial weekend 2007), although not to my childhood town, but close enough.

I enjoy yard work, scrapbooking, photography, PC Swapping, baking, and my family (which includes friends).

I don't recall when I joined Family Corner, but I have met a lot of good people in here, and enjoy reading much from them.

*** For safety reasons please do not publish your last name on the boards.***

If you see someone in need of help and you can do something, then do something — that goes for people and animals. If you can help out, try. That’s what I hope people take away from this.” -Alex Scroggins

Greetings from Maple Falls, Washington

Hi, I'm Becci, and my family and I live in Maple Falls, WA. Maple Falls is a small community in Whatcom County, the northern most county in Western Washington (at least on mainland western Wa it is).
If you are visiting our area in the winter the best things to do are skiing on Mount Baker (we live 30 minutes from the ski resort) as well as snowmobiling and cross country skiing.
In the summer there are lots of areas to go hiking and biking. The kids and I love to go camping and fishing at Silver Lake which is 8 miles from our home. We have a local Boy Scout camp there and the camp ranger's wife is our Cub Scout pack Cub Master, so we spend a lot of time volunteering at the camp in the off season (when they don't have resident Boy Scout camp).
We also love going into Bellingham and Lynden and once in a while going over the border into Canada. There is a border crossing in Sumas, WA which is about 12 miles away.
There are many dairy farms in the area as well as farms that grow fresh fruit and vege's, right now many berries are in season and soon there will be fresh picked corn and and other vegetables.

So come on up and visit any time, there is always a couch available or room to pitch a tent in the yard.
It is bad to suppress laughter; it goes back down and spreads to your hips.
