Good Morning Michigan, I hope everyone is surviving the snow that was dropped on us yesterday. I used to love snowdays when I was younger but now I am apprehensive about them.
The schools around here have not gone back yet, and the little varments are in the malls and causing all kinds of trouble.
The Christmas trees came down already and I have just about finished packing everything away. I have always hated the look of the house after the tree is out because it looked so bare.

I am going to be taking a week of to get the house back to order, mine and my Moms. I do look forward to getting some sleep that I missed before the holidays.
The store has settled down and I can finally breathe again, the good news is I lost 13 pounds this season just from moving around like I do at work. I guess if you're standing still there must be something wrong,
I hope everyone has a Blessed New Year, Carol

We didn't get hit too badly yesterday, but the kids were off because of the ice in the a.m. They were doing the snow day dance all day on Wednesday, I guess it worked!! LOL!
Carol, I know what you mean about how the house looks after you put everything away after Christmas. It's got that blah, barren look to it. I'm heading dowstairs to dig out the Valentines stuff, all that red, pink and white should brighten up the house, hopefully. It sure is grey outside!! I had to run to the mall and it took me the longest time to convince myself to go out in this dreary weather!! dreaming of summer!!

Well Hello from the U.P. We have frozen snow banks. YuK!!! Will take twice as long to thaw maybe. If anyone hits one its like hitting a cement wall.

We just had a dusting here in southern middle U.P. I keep feeling we are headed for a biggy here soon. Past few years we got most of our snow in Jan and some in Feb then the spring thaw started in March with a few storms that didn't stay. This year all we have came in early December. Well thanks to Lake Michigan on our part. My son and DIL in Detroit area are getting hit with 5-6 inches. Melts then they get it again. Just last week they said it was 68 degrees and yesterday snow.. Just unbelieveable weather.

Took my tree down too and was sad to do so as I love the atmosphere it presents. I had one of those tall thin trees which are for a small area like our livingroom. You would be surprised how beautiful you can decorate them.

Sure wish I could see the green lawns again. Hope for a short winter here in Michigan. I'm going to Detroit area in early Feb, Sterling Hghts, to babysit my grandkids so kids can fly off to nice warm Vegas......Ooooo so lucky!!! DS says he will treat us to a trip with them next year to Vegas. Been there but been awhile. Nice and warm.......

Take care Michiganders and stay warm and welll

Carolyn

Hi Katie, that is the type of Christmas Tree I want to get ...Tall thin ones with the bark showing..it looks like a pine tree you see in the woods. They are so lightweight and easy to put away too!

We have bare roads up here in the Western UP..I love it..it is usually March before we see them. I can say our roads are getting service less and less..probably due to the State cutbacks.

Keep the shiny side up& the greasy side down! lol

Hugs, janet

Good - Chilly Morning All

I am in the lower portion of MI. But our weather has been crazy this year. We just had a snow storm the other day which dropped about 6 inches. This morning we are getting another inch or so fo fluff.

But the weather men are saying its supposed to get warm starting tomorrow and then rain Mon - Wed so I suppose by next week sometime we should be seeing the grass again.

Its ok with me I am not partial to the snow or the cold weather. I would like to see the snow for Christmas and then have the 70 deg weather come back

Oh well thats just me I guess. Its nice to see some Michiganders back on the post.

Have a great day all

Hey guys--Happy New Year!! It's a warm and sunny 34* here today, and the roads are clear. God, I can't wait until spring!! We got hit with a lot of snow, but we really needed it or else the lakes will be way too low this year. I keep trying to have fun playing out there, but it's too coooold!
