Worst School Shooting in the U.S. at Va. Tech

At least 31 people dead including the gunmen, they believe the gunman killed himself.

I am completely shocked I live only an hour and a half away and this was everybodies top pick along with Marshall University, Graham High School which is my old high schools rival Bluefield High with the biggest football game of the year, the season opener and we still have people that live in Texas and out west that will come back just for that game, but we got along with Graham asides feom the football game we all had friends there but anyway I am so shakey I am rambling Graham High School took their Senior class to Virginia Tech this morning on a field trip so I am hoping by the time they got there it was already shut down, we have heard nothing about it and alot of people in the community are shook up pretty bad. Please Please pray for the staff, students, and the class from Graham on field trip, and everybodies parents.

This is a very close knit community and everybody is so tore up. Again they are saying 31 dead and 29 wounded. And the worst part is we are under a wind advisory they couldn't fly the critical ones out to Roanoke Memorial which is the closest trauma center and its about 45-60 mins away so they had to transport them in ambulances. Again please keep these people in your prayers I still cannot believe it happened.

April

www.cnn.com is giving the best coverage and are the most up to date if you guys wanted to keep up to date with what is going on. They think the shooter knew the building well but do not know if he was a student or an old student this is just a senseless tragedy.

Our company is contacting other businesses about setting up donations to one of the banks down there that will help the students and parents with hospital bills or whatever they may need. My man is a member of the Shrine and they have hospitals for burn victims and crippled children under 18 but they know alot of specialists outside of those fileds and may be able to contact some drs. that specialize in the fields they may need in Roanoke and maybe they can get some of those guys to come down and help out for no charge, they will be having a meeting about that later on.

I have been watching this story unfold on CNN, too. This is so shocking!

I am starting to wonderful if there really are any safe places left in this world.

My thoughts and prayers goes out to everyone there.

Friends, we woke to this dreadful news this morning. I can assure you all of Australia will be sharing your grief. I feel so sick - I cannot imagine anything to rival this.
Please know we are praying for you all, for the families, the community, for your country. April, we are especially praying for you and any other FC sisters that may be involved in any way.

With loving thoughts and prayers and praying

that God will send a blanket of peace and love to enfold you all,

My prayers will be with the familys of the students and the surviving students as well as their families. What a horrific way to start the week. I am sure we are all hugging our children a little tighter today as we Thank God for their safety. I cannot even imagine the terrible loss that they are facing but I do hope and pray that God give them as well as the nation strength to go on.

Be blessed,

Doris

Hello all!

My heart and prayers to all of the victims and their family, friends.

I believe that we are 6 hours from VTech. There are families in our community who also attend there.

I also watched the coverage on CNN....I'm with Tammi. Is there no where safe?

While they have identified the shooter I believe there is still no known motive?

gosh, this is the saddest thing -- I can not get over it. My heart goes out to all who are affected by this -- so unfortunate!! I dont know by yall but i have not been able to get away from the media -- I have been glued to the tv and reading the news online. Just so sad -- I even saw an interactive gallery of all the victims, showing pictures of them and telling their story.

My heart goes out to all the families.
