  • Autumn is the PERFECT time to discover Double JJ Resort in Rothbury. This “Old West Town” (in West Michigan) comes alive with its Fall Family Festival – including hayrides, corn maze, petting farm, craft barn, horseback riding, theatre shows, golfing and much more.
    Guests are invited to take an old-fashioned Hayride around Double JJ with a number of lively stops along the way. The Pumpkin Patch is the place where everyone can select a favorite pumpkin to take home. At another stop, the enormous Corn Maze lets folks take a meandering search for the end! There is also a Petting Farm with hug-able animals, and afternoon performances with “Cider” the Trick Horse and Wild West Stunt Shows. Unique gifts are available for purchase at the General Store, and kids can get creative in the Craft Barn. Homemade apple cider will be served. Wonderful baked goods, Halloween treats and so much more are all available this fall at the Double JJ.

    “Fall Festival” begins Saturday, September 24th and is open every Saturday and Sunday from Noon until 5pm through October 30th. Admission is $8/adults, and $5/children 12 and under.

    As always, Double JJ offers the best Horseback Riding trails in the state. Fall colors will be at their peak as riders take in miles of scenic wooded trails that wind around lakes and streams.

    "Creature Feature" Family Dinner Show

    The Double JJ Ranch & Golf Resort would like to invite you to come and celebrate the Halloween season in festive style with the Double JJ monsters. The "Creature Feature" Family Dinner Show features Dracula and all of his friends as they celebrate the coming of Halloween with singing, dancing and a little bit of magic. With tons of audience participation, you'll have a ghoulishly good time.



    "Creature Feature" begins Saturday, October 1 and runs every Friday and Saturday throughout the month of October. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 6:30 p.m. with a costume contest for all the little goblins.



    Autumn Fun

    Enjoy Fall on Main Street, September 24-October 30 from Noon to 5 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays. Activities include hayrides, petting farm, pumpkin patch, corn maze, cider-making, pony rides, stunt shows, arts & crafts, a Horse Demo with "Cider & Friends" and a concession stand. While you're there, purchase pumpkins, cider, donuts, apples, candy and caramel apples or pastries. The General Store will be open and kids can make pioneer crafts.





    Halloween Scream, October 1-31, is held Fridays and Saturdays (plus Thursdays, October 20 & 27 and Sunday, October 30) from 7-10 p.m. The Haunted Hayride is a scary hayride and the Phobias 3-D is a three-dimensional haunt, both for the entire family. The Haunted Barn is an intense haunted experience and the Panic Room is a seven-minute, spine-tingling experience guaranteed to leave you screaming. These two attractions are not recommended for those 12 and younger. Admission to attractions can be purchased individually or as a package.



    "The Rocky Horror Show"

    Enter the Time Warp and give yourself over to the Double JJ Ranch & Golf Resort as they once again present "The Rocky Horror Show." This cult classic by Richard O'Brian is sure to be an unforgettable experience for audiences. Not for the weak at heart, this over-the-top story about Brad and Janet and the perils that ensure when they have a flat tire on a cold and raining night, is sure to entertain all who dare to watch.

    Back for a fifth season, the popularity of "The Rocky Horror Show" seems to be ever-growing, as does the attendance of the Double JJ production each year.

    DOUBLE JJ CREATES HEART-THUMPING, TERROR-IFIC FUN FOR “HALLOWEEN SCREAM” OPENING SEPTEMBER 30TH


    Spend the night in terror during the Haunted Ranch Weekends!



    Rothbury, MI. – September, 2005 –The old barn doesn’t look so scary during the daylight hours at the Double JJ Ranch & Golf Resort. But as night falls on Main Street at the Back Forty Ranch, The Haunted Barn takes on a life of its own. A frightful, eerie life, complete with the “Jason Room,” the “Forever Hallway,” and the “Maze of Terror.” That’s just part of the fun that will take place during this year’s Halloween Scream, Friday and Saturday nights, September 30h through October 30th, plus Thursdays, October 20th & 27th and Sunday, October 30th. “Phobias 3-D” is designed to take thrill seekers to the edge with mind-boggling 3-D effects. The Panic Room gives a seven-minute adrenaline rush. There is also a Haunted Hayride that offers families a bump-in-the-night ride through the infamous Double JJ Haunted Forest.



    An evening of frightful fun needn’t end in the parking lot. Not when a room, breakfast, and unlimited Haunted attractions are part of the Double JJ’s Haunted Ranch Weekend getaway special starting at $99 per person. The Haunted Package is available Friday and Saturday nights, September 30th through October 30th and includes one night’s lodging, breakfast, and unlimited Haunted attractions. Some restrictions apply.



    The Scream Deal combo package is $25 for adults and $20 for kids under 12, which includes all four attractions. The Haunted Barn is not recommended for young children.

    “The Rocky Horror Show” returns to the stage on October 1st





    Rothbury, MI. – September, 2005 – It’s the season to walk on the wild side. The rock n roll party musical is back for its third season at the Double JJ Ranch & Golf Resort. And, it’s the only live production of Rocky Horror in West Michigan. Richard O’Brien’s “The Rocky Horror Show” is an unforgettable experience for audiences as they become as much a part of the show as the actors.



    Jason Leyva, Director of Entertainment at Double JJ, is directing and acting in The Rocky Horror Show. “We’ve revamped the show with new lights, staging and cast members,” says Leyva and the Double JJ Cast is from all over the world. “Our audience just keeps growing,” said Leyva. “The show has become so popular that we are moving the performance to The Ranch Wagon Wheel.” “This environment allows us to amplify the visual effects and performances on stage and creates the perfect atmosphere for this production.”



    Leyva’s productions are gaining more than audience attention. Bill Wade, owner of Great Lakes Theatrical Productions, signed on as a cast member, as well. Wade and Leyva are discussing future plans for further collaborations. Leyva carries more than fifteen years experience in the arts, including acting, directing, writing and producing many works across the nation.



    The Double JJ is starting show nights off with “Scary-Oke Karaoke” at 9 pm and a costume contest at 10pm.

    “The Rocky Horror Show” begins at 10:30pm on Saturday, October 1st. It will continue on Friday and Saturday nights, October, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22 and 28. The 2005 season will end with it’s last show on Sunday, October 30th Devil’s night. Tickets are $14 per person. Adults only.



    The Rocky Horror Combo includes “The Rocky Horror Show,” plus all four Haunted attractions (The Haunted Barn, Haunted Hayride, Panic Room, and Phobias 3-D) for just $30.

  • Wow Barbszy, there sure is alot that goes on in Michigan, who would of ever thunk? There is not a whole lot of activity up in my neck of the woods...our biggest news here it that our Super Walmart is now open...the grocery part too..I haven't checked out the meat or produce section..I have checked out there ice cream section...what alot of choices..but vanilla is my favorite!

    I must be getting old..lol
