HAHA
Very funny!
Are you actually from Colorado, or were you just feeling sorry for the state's lack of posts?
I'm here on the Western Slopes . . . I thought I'd check to see if there were any other Coloradans out there. I do admit that I had a good chuckle at your post!

Nope, I am from Colorado... and until now it has just been me and the tumbleweeds out here in the Colorado Regional forum! I am pathetically happy to hear from you, I never really thought anyone would stop by here!
So what specific area are you from?

Montrose,CO
I'm here in Montrose. Not knowing where you are from, Montrose is located an hour south(ish) from Grand Junction, and an hour north(ish) from Telluride. We are about an hour from the Utah border to the west of us.
What area are you from?

About 45 minutes from Cheyenne, Wyoming. It is beautiful here, a fairly short drive up to Estes Park, which is wonderful!

CO Weather
OK, replying to two separate threads, two separate forums left too many windows open on the computer . . . The weather has been nuts! We are in the middle of the desert. I can count the times it has rained each of the past 5 summers on one hand . . . And my daughter didn't even know what thunder was until last week . . .
I grew up in Michigan and went to college in Nebraska, so humidity was something of a norm (I'm sure you understand). Out here, I've become a huge wuss, and the humidity the past two weeks actually spurred me to go out and buy a swamp cooler! I never thought I'd do it . . . I thought the people out here were nuts to think it ever got miserably hot, now, I'm one of them!
We're going to Denver next week for 4 days and I plan on spending a lot of time at the pool so it had better not rain!

Yeah, it has been weird. I am originally from Nebraska (been here since I was 3) but my family is still out there, so we visit from time to time, and the heat does feel differant. I think the altitude messes with you, too. My dh is from Washington state, and let me tell ya, he thinks he is going to die every summer!
Have fun in Denver, I love it! We are only an hour away. Our six flags is a pretty good one, really.

NE eh?!
Sorry it took so long to post.
Yesterday my ds was in the tractor pull at the county fair. I was so worn out by the time I got home, I couldn't get online!
So, where abouts in NE is your family? My hubby's family is from Fremont (NW of Omaha), where there is corn and cows . . . and flat, flat, flat land. We lived in West Point NE after graduating from college, that wasn't very exciting either!
We love the Mountains! We love the low humidity out here! We miss having four seasons in a year though . . .
So, I thought I read a post that you work at a school. Or were you going back to school? Do you teach? Just wondering, I originally was in college to teach, but graduated with BAs in Communications Studies and English, concentration in Spanish. What do I do? I am a project manager . . . something I could have done with a hs degree, but oh well . . . We also have chosen to homeschool, so my college education has proved very worthwile at home.
I look forward to getting to know a fellow Coloradan online, and who knows, maybe someone else will find us here!

Peek-a-boo, I see you! I know where Montrose is! Hee Hee. I live there too. It's great to see someone from Colorado. I've been a member of this site for awhile and never actually posted anything. Anyhow, I'm a SAHM, 3 kids, only one husband, and a love of crochet and needlpoint. I wish I could make a descent loaf of bread without having to resort to the bread machine, but I love to try anyhow. Happy Holidays to all and to all a hot cup a joe!

Its a small world after all
Wow! I never woulda thunk it, a fellow Montrosian!
HeeHee.
So, how old are your kidlets? Mine are 7, 4, and 2 (I need to update my profile!).
I hear it may snow! Puh-lease snow!
Welcome to the board. I've been pretty inactive lately, too active in life off of the computer, but now that the holiday's have hit and I've become a habitual ebayer again, I'll probably be present on the board more often.
Blessed Christmas to all!
