German Cabbage Soup

    German Cabbage Soup.

    1 (460z) can V8 juice
    1 env. Lipton Recipe Secrets dry onion soup mix
    1 beef bouillon cube
    1 tsp sugar
    1 lb lean ground beef
    Oil
    1-1/2 C chopped cabbage
    1-1/2 C chopped celery
    1 small onion, chopped
    Pour V8 juic into a slow cooker, add onion soup mix , bouillion cube and sugar. Stir well.
    Brown ground beef in skillet in small amount of oil, crumble and drain meat. Add beef, cabbage, celery and onion to mixture in slow cooker, stir until well mixed. Cook at med for 5 hours.

    Good with buttered toasted rye bread.

    if using Bison would be okay?
  • My DH likes Bison and I have have used it in any recipe that calls for ground beef, so I can't imagine it wouldn't work well in this recipe!
