Buffalo Caramel Corn

Buffalo Caramel Corn

1/2 cup unpopped popcorn(12 cups popped)
1 (12oz) can unsalted mixed nuts(2 cups)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup unsalted butter or margarine
1/3 cup cayenne pepper sauce(Frank's)
1/2 tsp baking soda

Heat oven to 300*F. Pop popcorn according to package directions. Place popcorn and nuts in a large well-greased roasting pan. Heat 10 minutes. While preparing glaze. In a heavy 3-quart sauce pan,combine sugar,corn syrup,butter and Frank's red pepper sauce. Bring to a full boil over medium heat,stirring,boil 5 minutes. Removed from heat. Stir in baking soda. Pour hot syrup over popcorn and nuts,stirring to coat well. Return to oven. Bake 20 minutes,stirring twoce. Remove from oven. Cool completely and break apart. Store tightly covered for 1 week.
