Post Snacks

A quick 'junk food' snack I make for the kids is:
take regular biscut dough and add flavor to it:
bbq spice, taco seasoning, powdered cheese, the flavors for popcorn work great, what ever taste you want
break it into peanut sized peices and bake until light brown about 5 minutes at 350

taste's like nibblers and they're not fried but have losts of taste

Question

Hi everyone,
I would like to know some more recipes for healthy snacks like the one above. I have to admit, I haven't tried it yet but I will tomorrow. I promise.;-)
Raisins aren't a big hit with my kids, they do like raw veggies though. Oh well these are just a FEW of the foods my kids are picky about
Ciao for now,
Irene

I make something we call weenee wraps wollups.

Wrap hot dogs in American cheese slices, then roll in tortillas. Microwave just until the cheese melts, then slice into 1 inch pieces. We love these.

justGina, those sound great! We have made the ones that you wrap in crescent rolls and bake for about 10 minutes...fattening, but yummy

hi

Does anyone have an good snack idea's that are sugarfree but also easy to prepare? My 14 yr DD cannot have sugar and my 10 yr DS is ADHD so we have to watch what they eat. I can give them the homemade breads ( cinnamon bread for the 2 youngest but not the 14 yr old) and apples etc but they get tired of that and want junk food or 'fast food snacks' which i am not prepared to go out and buy for them. We have done the jello , fruit and cereal afterschool snack things and they are 'so old mom!' lol

I really like the recipe idea above and will definatly give that a try this week. Things like that I am sure they would like . I think they , like most people, just get bored with the same old things day in and day out .

Any tips , hints or recipes would be very appreciated

Sue

What types of SF Snacks would you like? I have several that are sugar free but not low fat.

Please let me know and I will list them for you.
