Dr. Pepper Baked Beans

as posted in WFD 09/06:

DR. PEPPER BAKED BEANS
2 cans pork and beans, drained
1 can pink beans, drained
1 can pinto beans, drained
1 bell pepper, chopped fine
1 onion, chopped fine
1 can diced tomatoes, drained
1/2 can Dr. Pepper (2/3 cup)
1 cup brown sugar
pinch of cloves

Mix beans and all vegetables.
Combine soda, sugar and cloves. Pour over top.
Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

That looks good! My father loves beans but he always makes me pour some beer in it as the secret ingredient lol

Last time I made these I also threw in about a cup of finely diced celery. I'll be doing that from now on--it was a great addition.

I always add a little bit of mustard and mollases thay are sooo good
