I have set a dish of baking soda inside a plastic tub and placed an open book inside the tub, placed the lid on and let it all sit for a few days. It took the old musty smell right out of the book.

I have used one of those metal cupcake stands to hold and display apples.

I also use a metal ironing board as a plant stand, it works great and it can be raised or lowered as needed.
