New School Year

OK, what do all you leaders have up your sleeves this year?

I've got a troop of juniors, and this year we plan to focus on CHANGES! Two of the girls lost a parent last year, we had September 11th, all of the girls went from elementary to junior high (6th grade) this year, their bodies are changing, their families are changing, their school changed, etc.

I have some plans to get them involved more in community service projects they can relate to in our city. I have a neighbor that coordinates Santa Cop and the local food bank, so we're going to work with them to collect and sort 'stuff' for local families. We have lots of council projects available to us also. I want to build their self-esteem by building their confidence.

What kind of stuff are ya'll doing this year? I need LOTS of new ideas! Thanks, Dawn
