Anyone save change?

If you do, what do you do with it? My husband saves his for XMAS fund and I usually save mine up until the grocery money is real slim then dig in to it.

And, what do you save it in? Currently I am using a glass jar. I was using an old Kool Aid plastic pitcher but my 4 year abscounded with it! Hubby uses an old five gallon ice cream bucket.

We throw our change in a large plastic jar and I roll it up and take it to the bank for cash. Over the years we have bought Christmas with it. We have also bought a new tv, VCR, cd writer for the comp., We have given it to someone when there was a need, and even paid a few bills when money was tight. I'm always amazed at how much it adds up to in a few months.

We are saving our change right now for christmas. We save it in an old gallon milk jug. I am saving it until December 1st. then I am going to roll it up and cash it in for Christmas shopping. Then I will start saving for summer vacation so we can do something special over summer vacation without worrying about putting it on the credit card. This has worked out well the past couple of years., it's easy and really adds up.

chuckle Change, change, change

We save change and use it for vacations. And if we have to, in emergencies. I've got individual jars for quarters, dimes, nickles and pennies. Makes rolling easier. We got a washer and dryer years ago 90 days, same as cash, and everytime I did a load of wash or used the dryer, I put in the amount it would cost me to go to the laundrymat. By the time the 90 days rolled around, I almost had enough to pay it off.

Hi! I never spend change...unless it is for a parking meter. I collect it and then every so often we cash it in...I have saved over $400.00 this way. Wish I would of started that 20 years ago...I would have a nice retirement! lol

Everybody has great ideas for their change. Now.....I never have any change left!!!! I save our pennies & I have quite a big jar of them but as far as quarters, dimes, nickels.....With 4 boys at school, all of that goes for their lunches!! Our youngest "has" to eat breakfast at school as he is in 1st grade & they make the K & 1st graders eat at school & that is an additional .75 a day!!! Boy, when they all are out of school, We are going to be RICH with all our extra change:p

I don't save change, I spend it, but my cousin saves only pennys in one of those 5 gallon water jugs. Everybody chips in by giving her their pennys when they have some. She's emptied it twice already, but I can't remember how much she got, but it was a lot!
Good for y'all for saving your change! I don't go out enough to get that much and I use my ATM card a lot when I do go to the stores.

We always save our change, and we save it in a new glass apple cider jug. It looks real kewl because it has the little jug handles on it like the old jugs did. IT is clear so you can watch it pile up!!!
When we get it full we plan on using it for a trip.
I am sure if you look in the apple cider area at groc store you will find one and hey the cider ain't bad either.

My dh empties his pockets of change every day and tosses it into a glass jug that I bought cheap. We usually roll it up for extra Christmas money (usually $300 or so by years end) and last year used it to help finance a trip to visit my family for a reunion. This year we're saving up for a trip to Ireland and Scotland! Wonderful DH heard how much I have always wanted to go so started saving specifically for this. He also tosses in "spare" paper money so it's growing rapidly.

Apple Cider

Don't you love apple cider this time of year. I can remember back in high school going to a place that made apple cider and helping. That was the best apple cider ever. Gonna add apple cider to the grocery list. Now I have a craving.
