Dutch Oven Cooking

Does any one cook with a dutch oven? I use my dutch ovens when we are camping. Here is a easy recipe.

Cobbler Dump
12" dutch oven, foil lined
bake @ 325
top and bottom heat
25-30 minutes

Dump into a foil-lined oven, stir or mix:
2 29-ounce cans of sliced peaches with juice(or 2 quarts of homemade sliced peaches)
1 cup crushed pineapple with juice
1/2 cup instant tapioca

Sprinkle on top of fruit mixture:
1 yellow or white cake mix

Top cake mix with:
1-1/4 cups brown sugar
1/4 pound butter, thinly sliced

Bake with top and bottom heat for 20 minutes. Remove from bottom and finish baking with top heat. Do not stir duriing the cooking process. Watch bottom heat closely. Sugar cause food to burn. When done, fruit is bubbling and slightly thickened. Crust is golden brown. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream or cool with whipped cream.

Try a variety of fruits and cake mixes to find your favorite combination. Examples of other combinations---pears and applesauce with spice cake, blueberries and pineapple with a lemon cake mix. Add cinnamon or grated lemon rind or nuts. This recipe is very versatile.
Have a wonderful day.

Can this be made in the oven at home too?

I was thinking of trying it. My son's troop makes this while out on their camping trips. Thanks for the recipe. I'll keep your son in my prayers. Wishing we could bring all of the guys home soon.

Take care, it's not easy with a son over seas.
Thanks again for the recipe.
