Sauces in General

I didn't see a thread for just sauces and I have a couple recipes that I would like to share here, so here goes!

Sweet and Sour Sauce

1 10-oz jar of Grape Jelly
1 12-oz can of Chili Sauce

Mix together in a crock pot and heat until jelly is melted. Then add in one-inch long pieces of sausage and let heat all the way through then serve. Great stuff!

Bess's BBQ Sauce

1 qt Ketchup
1 12-oz can of Tomato Juice
1 c Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp Hot Sauce of your choice
1 Tsp Prepared Mustard
1/4 c Liquid Smoke
2 Tbsp Butter, the real thing!
1/2 c Chopped Onion
1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder or 1/4 Tsp fresh, pressed Garlic
Add Salt and Pepper to taste

Mix together in sauce pan and simmer until ready to use.
Can be put in freezer containers or sealed in small pint jars.
Makes a great gift to go along with BBQ tools, etc.

Enjoy!
Lynette
