Special Diets?

If there is one person in your household family that has to follow a special diet does the entire family eat that way or do you cook the "special diet" person their meal separate from everyone else's?

The three of us are on different diets which I help prepare. Breakfast & lunches are different but dinner we eat the same meal prepared but different side dishes. Always make a fruit smoothie as a snack for my son and I to share. Best treat of the day and helps with needed nutrients.

I just recently had the bariatric, vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I had the surgery six weeks ago (doing amazingly great), and I find I can eat whatever the family is eating, minus some dishes and of course much smaller portions.

I'm the one with the special diet, and we don't exactly make anyone else suffer from my issues with certain foods. I have learned to pick around certain items that I can not eat, and ask for other foods not be made when possible. Sometimes, family will make me a side different from everyone elses, and sometimes I will bring a side that I can eat and share. I have a Niece that can not have tree nuts, so we are careful about what type of holiday foods and gifts which don't have or made where nuts might have been
If you see someone in need of help and you can do something, then do something ó that goes for people and animals. If you can help out, try. Thatís what I hope people take away from this.Ē -Alex Scroggins
