Do you remember "Penny Candy?" What was your favorite?

I remember walking to town with my Grandmother when I was a little girl. It was so much fun to be able to give the man behind the counter 25 cents and get a bag of candy!

I used to love the Swedish fish ( still do ), the candy lipsticks, the stretchy bracelets with candy on them and the flying saucers that really were really disgusting but I was always amazed at how they dissolved in my mouth.

What was your favorite kind of Penny Candy?

What, no chocolate??! I would have been so disappointed too!
Oh, I just thought of some more: Charms lollipops (especially the peach ones!) and also Wacky Wafers.

jaw breakers, definitely-not the wimpy ones with sweet tart in the center that they have now; but a full jaw breaker of hard candy, the bigger the better.
also loved the bazooka bubble gum with comics.
Now tell me what were flying saucers and ice cubes???

Charms Sweet & Sour suckers, fruity tootsies, Lik-A-Stick, pop rocks, those powdery suckers. My brother and I used to bike to the country store with our change and return home with a mini sack full of sweets.
