Recipe Organization Software

I'm looking into getting some recipe software. So far, at the top of my list is LivingCook sofware www.livingcook.com. Does anyone else use software to organize their recipes? I want to be able to make a shopping list, create cookbooks, easily import recipes from other sources.

Hi meari!! Welcome to Family Corner!!

Here's the link to a thread about how others organize their recipes. You might look through it. Perhaps another member mentioned a software that they use.

It might be worth a try until you get some other posts here.

I went to the other thread. There are a ton of ideas. I myself have my own system on Micrsoft Word. The problem I have is that I need to print out hard copies in case of a computer crash. I posted the following question on the other thread, but I will post it here too:

I have a question for you gals who say there is a template for recipe cards on Microsoft Word. Where do I do in Word to find the recipe card template?

I have used the program "Mastercook" for many years now and really love it. I can set up multiple cookbooks and catagories for each recipe. After you input your recipe, you can scale to whatever size you need (nice if you need something for a large group but the recipe only serves 4-6 to begin with). Also you can print the recipes in many different formats (3x5, 4x6, half page, whole page, three hole punch page, with many different editable designs to choose from). Also you can import and export recipes to/from other sources. It's a great program and I would recommend it anyone.

I, too, have been using Mastercook for 3 years now. I like it except I have never been able to figure out how to import from other sources. I have tried all of the helps and whatever I do, it still doesn't work so I end up just copying and pasting into the new recipe window and having to type up ingredients individually into their appropriate fields. It is a great organization tool, too.
