Yogurt

I bought some Yoplait yogurts and they are really not "that bad." Remember, this is coming from the girl with the huge sweet tooth!!
I am trying to choose healthier snacks. I like the mixed berry and orange cream.....

Do you like yogurt? What flavors/brands?

hugs,train

I like yogurt. It is the closest I come to drinking milk other than half and half in my coffee.
My favorite's are the "whipped" kind. I love raspberry flavor the best. I tend to buy what's on sale or what I have a coupon for. This is another thing that my family likes.

I love yogurt! I eat it at least three times a week at lunch.

My favorite is Yoplait especially since they came out with their new Heart Healthy variety.

Some of my favorite flavors are cherry, apple turnover and blueberry.

I also like the Breakstone Cottage Doubles and enjoy them for lunch also.

Women can never get too much calcium and the younger you start the better.

I am lactose intolerant but am able to eat yogurt and cheese because most of the lactose is processed out of those products.

I wasn't a yogurt person until I discovered O'Soy brand of yogurt. Yes, this is made with soy milk. Before you all say, "ewww!", let me tell you that I HATE soy milk. However, I tried one of these and they were delicious. Can't tell it's soy. For whatever reason, I like them much better than the regular milk yogurts. They come in raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, and peach flavors.

For breakfast, I dump the yogurt into a bowl and mix in a small handful of raw almonds and a little crunchy Kashi cereal. Mix it all up. Filling and nutritious.

The only "downside" of this O'Soy yogurt is that it has sugar in it. But I look at it this way - most other yogurts have artificial sweeteners in them. I'm not diabetic and I'm not on a low-carb diet, so the sugar doesn't bother me. I'd just rather stay away from artificial sweeteners.

On the other hand, if you want to be REALLY healthy and avoid both sugar and artificial sweeteners, the best thing to do would be to buy plain yogurt with NO sweeteners in it...mix in your own fruit and sweeten with pure maple syrup, honey, or stevia (a natural sweetener).

Cheers,
Melanie

I don't like yogurt at all. Whenever kids had those yogurt drinks, they'd almost nauseate me. Last year, I read about a recipe to make your own yogurt drinks. I made one and tried it. The strong yogurt smell is not there and it tastes really good! I use skim milk and low fat yogurt from Walmart. Inexpensive and good for you. I've tried the yogurt from Aldi's but it doesn't taste as good.

I agree Melanie. I try to stay away from certain artificial sweeteners as well. Some like this new popular one Splenda, are made from some pretty nasty chemicals like chlorine.
