Beef Stew with Vegetables (pressure cooker)

This recipe was originally posted in What’s for Dinner June 2008 by: Sueanne
Beef Stew With Vegetables (pressure cooker)

2 6oz pieces of chuck steak, cut up
1 large onion chopped
1 large zucchini sliced
2 large bell peppers sliced
2 cups of chopped cabbage
4 plum tomatoes chopped
4 figs, chopped
2 tbl. olive oil
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
3/4 cup water
2 cut up potatoes( optional )

Cut up steak trim all fat make bite sized pieces.
Coat with bread crumbs and brown in pan. I use a large skillet first to brown meat with a couple of tabl. of olive oil. Add the onions and peppers cook till browned. Put it all in the pressure cooker with a half cup of water. Add the remaining ingredients plus 1/4 cup water should be enough so will not burn. Cook for at least twenty minutes. When cover is removed stir and add some water if need. Should have a nice gravy with your stew. I don't add potatoes but can add a couple.

How do the figs taste in this? Sounds interesting, just never have tried adding them.
