Preschoolers & Kindergartners What a fun time in life! Time to learn 123's and ABC's. At the same time, they're leaving that babyhood we'll miss so much!

Help Your Kindergartener Ber Math Ready

have 3 kis ags 15, 12, and 6. I live in upstate NY and have found that the schools are becoming harder and harder on cldren with homework and what they must know in Kindergarten. If your child is having difficulty with their numbers here is a fun way to get them to speak and write their numbers. I know my son is having difficlty right now in Kindergarten writing to 100 so this is how I have helped him. I get out 5 paper plates and find a bunch of things that he can glue onto the plates. Three of the plates he gets to pick how many things to put on and on two of them I pick how many. After he glues all items onto the plates he must write the numbers of how many things there are on the plates on a sheet of paper and we attach it to the plates. I then hang them around the house or in his room and we practice counting them. It is a fun way to get them involved and they don't exactly feel as though they are being made to do math.
