First time around I craved salty food and Mushroom and Swiss burgers from Hardees. Second time, again salty food and fried green tomatoes. Which were out of season...

I was lucky to only feel somewhat nauseated for a couple of hours in the evening for a few weeks with both pregnancies. I was extremely tired though. Oddly enough, food started tasting funny to me while I was pregnant. I LOVE chocolate when not pregnant but it totally turned me off while I was.

With my first son (who was 9lbs 6 34/ oz when born) I didn't have any noticeable cravings, but I did develop a "dislike" for Diet Coke. Now you have to understand that Diet Coke & iced tea are the only things I drank at the time...mostly the DC. When I was 6 weeks pg, my ex & I went to MN to visit his family. Well, I had already bought 2 cases of drinks for us to put in the cooler (to save $$). I didn't find out I was pg until 2 days before we left. I had to check with the Dr b/c I used to get motion sickness whenever I travelled long distances (it's a little better now) & I didn't know if I could take Dramamine... which I could. Anyway, the whole week & a half we were gone, I only drank 6 cans of sodas. We had to stop every few hours to buy me choc milk, juice & etc. just to have something to drink! I didn't drink sodas for 5 or 6months. AND I lost 25 lbs even being pg!!! (Dr said that was OK b/c I'm overweight anyway & the baby was growing.) 'Course, I gained it all back when I started back drinking sodas. Wish I could stop drinking them now...lol.

With my second son & with the twins, I don't remember any specific cravings.

During my first pregnancy with my DS, I was sick morning, noon, and night. But, when I could eat, I craved banana popsicles. With my daughter I craved corn dogs. At the time, I hated corn dogs and could not imagine why I was craving them--but you can't fight pregnancy cravings!

DeBora, does your daughter like corn dogs?
I craved burritos with DD1, watermelon with DS.
No cravings with DDs 2&3

Coll, no, my DD does NOT like corndogs. The funny part is that when I was pregnant with her I could not eat pizza and other spicy food because it gave me heartburn and that is ALL she eats now.

chuckle Don't know how strange mine were but . . .

I could not get enough strawberry ice cream over sliced tomatoes. A local company used to make things called "Pink Elephants" which were basically chocolate covered bars of strawberry ice cream. I would purchase dozens of them at a time and have them on a plate together with sliced tomatoes. At least this was an improvement on my mother who, when pregnant with my younger sister could not have enough rice pudding. I can recall going home from school and the house would literally reek of rice pudding baking. It turned me off of milk puddings for the rest of my life.
