I like the recipe idea and the recipe cards. Did you just "make a postcard" size out of heavy card stock to do that? Guess with doing that your own "poscards" could be made also.

yeap that was what we did, some were decorated up with stickers, some were printed off from sites that had receipe cards that you write on.
You could also take old post card u do not like, paste cardstock over it, and use it that away.. or those postcard flyers that comes into the mail, you could even use those by putting paper over it and then the receipe.. recycle... which is great idea.
you can print off the recipe then put it on cardstock, or print onto cardstock.
some were lamanted, and others were not..
I even one time got one that had a fabric backing to it.
hope that helps.

What exactly would we have to do to get this started again?

We would need a few members to sign up for it. It's more fun when you have more than just a few members. You ask any member to exchange postcards with you through a PM. DO NOT LIST YOUR NAME & ADDRESS ON THE BOARD! I have one from every state & some from out of USA, but I'll see if I can find some postcards from here & will let you know when I get some to send to you.
Our walmart here does not carry them. Florida is a tourist state, so they carried them down there.

Our walmart doesn't carry them either. I have been looking around to see what I could find here and so far the most I have found would be hotel/ motel postcards. Since this is basically a good weather tourist area you would think postcards would be easy to find, but no luck yet! The only plus is there would be quite a few that could be made like some one described earier on here that could be done.
Where would we do the sign up? I guess maybe it could be announced in the newsletter once the go ahead would start with sign-ups?

We would start a new thread on the postcard swap. I'm not sure if the other one is still open or not. We could have Tami put it in the newsletter to alert everyone that it is starting up again. One of us would moderate the thread.
Do you have a welcome center or Chamber of Commerce near you? They would probably have postcards.
The postage for postcards is
.28 cents for sending in USA
.75 cents for sending to Canada
.98 cents to Australia
If we have some from any other country, we'd have to look up the postage rates for them.

For those that want to exchange postcards, please PM the ones you'd like to exchange with & ask if they would like to exchange with you. Then you can give them your mailing address. I'll join in once I get some postcards.
DO NOT PUT YOUR INFO ON THE BOARDS!!! THAT MUST BE DONE IN A PRIVATE MESSAGE!!!
