For those interested currently (without Versherren) we have:
Couldn't get it to post your list, but my 3 yr old Aspen is actually a girl . . . and I didn't post Tristan's sex either, so I don't know if you have him correctly so:
Aspen age 3 (going on 16) female
Tristan age 6 male

Thanks. They are both so excited and keep asking can we start, can we start?!

We are looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Oops, sorry! I did put Tristan as a boy. It does not really matter as boys will also exchange with girls. I did the list just to show what a good interest and that had both male and female aat most all of the ages.

The how tos are being worked out and it will be starting soon! As some sites say: Under Construction!

Postcard Swap for Kids

Hello, I think this is a great idea. I have a 9 year old DS and a 6 year old DD that will be participating. I think there should be a minimum amount of communication set per age group. Like once a week for 3-4 & 5-6 yr olds and twice a month for 7-8 & 9-10 yr olds because there concept of time is different. But they are not limited to this number. Some may want to participate more often than others. I like the idea of changing penpals every month. We can set a trial 3 month time limit for this and ask every one at the end of the 3 months how they like the system and adjust it accordingly. How does that sound??

postcard swap

My 12 year old daughter would be interested. Let me tell you about what a 5th grade class did from another state. Every student made up a zipcode then looked it up to see what state their numbers were in and then the teacher found a school and that child wrote a letter of introduction to a 5th grade class with that zipcode and all the kids in the class wrote back. It was alot of fun and very interesting.

Kid penpal

Hi,
I know that my DD would love to do this. She likes to get mail and she is almost six. Her grandfather sent postcards every weel while on a long trip and she loved it, unfortunately we could not reply back as he was moving around alot.
I think that it should be a weekly thing and maybe change penpals every 2 months.

I have to agree, once per week for correspondence and changing every two months seems appropriate for children. I know in things like the Secret Sister club, we change monthly, but since the kids will be using snail mail, not posting online, I think two months for each pair would be more appropriate - figure that's eight exchanges. Look at us online with multiple exchanges per day . . .
Oh, we just can't wait to start this! It will be so much fun!
