Pippe, if you just wanted to collect as many states as possible--why not join our regular Postcard Swap?
http://www.familycorner.com/forums/s...d.php3?t=14798
There's no minimum of posts to join!
Yes, it's among grownups but we could address the card to your class if you wanted it that way.
When they got the card they could match it up to your classroom map. They could count how many states they have. They could make graphs of how many map cards, how many "scenery" cards, or whatever classification you want. They could design a "make your own postcard" to send in return. I know that some of the postcard swappers make their own and could tell you how.
I'd be happy to help your class by sending a postcard from my state and I'm sure that many other members of the Postcard Swap would also do that.

Pippe, Barbszy has a great idea to join the adult group. The kids group does not have as many children in it and we may not start back up depending on the interest. The adult group has a couple of members from other countries too. I know I would be glad to send you one even would let the kids write on them if you prefer.

I'd like to sign up my 3 grandkids. Mom said OK! Karen is 12 (grade 7), Jaden is 9 next month (grade 3), and Ehlana (E lana) is 7 (grade 2). All are very good readers.

November swappers: please go to this thread and you'll find out how to sign up your kids for the postcard swap! There's an enrollment form that you need to fill out. It's really easy! See you there!

hi,
this is an idea every one will cherish. I would suggest that it can involve some interested teachers as it will inforce learning in an incidental way. I will also like to see teachers coordinating these ideas in the development of the children. Again parents are key in the safety of the Children and I think it will be all done. I have lots of children and Teachers here who would like to take up pen-pals for their class and children............please include me on the snail mail list. If there are children, parents, and teachers who already want to learn about Africa-Uaganda, we are here to build!...Again thank you for these ideas, they make FC. more real.

Richard.

Stick around, Kent...if enough interest comes up we can get this going again. But please remember that you will need to get to 75 posts before you can participate.
