Pinkie Winky bread topping for pie

if you have any day old bread, don't throw it out. bread that is any where fom 3 to 5 days old will do. take 5to 7 pieces of bred and cut crust off, then cut bread into 3 strips, more if you like it thinner. take a pie pan fill it with fruit, any kind you like. take bread and stack over fruit filling . mix together 1 stick melted butter 1 cup sugar 1 egg beaten, 1 tablespoon flour. pour over top of fruit mixture. bake at 350 degrees 25 to 30 mins. depending on how brown you like it and how fast your oven cooks. everywhere i take this everybody LOVES it. I like the apple fruit filling the best. if you use the apple i add alittle sugar and cinnamon to it . :D

Wow that sounds GREAT! I have a question, do you use canned pie filling or did you mean just plain fresh fruit? I want to try this, it sounds yummy!
