Question 3 cats + water

Well, Mom has one like that, too. You're just gonna have to be persistent. Remember the pine cones? duck tape?
Good luck!!

even if the cat likes water the squirt is sudden and usually surprising them enough to make him run.

Put a little vinegar in the squirt gun!!! We always put plastic ornaments on the lower branches of our tree and we don't fight the cats off. You will be surprised at how fast they will lose interest in the tree if you are not always shooing them away from it!

You will be forever missed Breezy...

Yea, there's really no way to keep a determined cat away from the tree. I even have an artificial tree that one of my many cats climbs! He's never been outside, I don't know if he realizes it's not real or not!!

In the past, I've tied trees to the wall - fishing line works well, it's sturdy and practically invisible. I've also stood the tree up inside a playpen, when I had one. I've also used a wire pen enclosure we've had for puppies. Whatever it was also got decorated!

Don't use tinsel, the cats will eat it, and how attractive is that when you see it hanging out of the cat's bottom!! Not to mention if it doesn't pass through, you'll have a huge vet bill or worse, one less pet.

Generally, I can say after about a week, the initial attraction wears off for most of them. Of course, if you have one of those determined guys, you're just gonna love him and put the tree back up whenever it ends up on the floor!!

Good luck, however you decide to do it this year.
