Congratulations on your new family member.

Make sure you make an appointment for a physical with your veterinarian. Like the others have already said its very important to have your pet heartworm tested and to use heartworm prevention. There are several excellant flea and tick products on the market let your vet recommend the appropriate one for your pet. As for bathing and normal odors your vet can also assist you with questions on that too. If your pet seems to have unusually bad breath you may need to have her teeth cleaned. There are some very good high quality pet foods on the market today to help control tartar buildup.

Good Luck and remember pets need lots of love and attention.

Dog Care

Hi, I have dogs which I show and also are pets. I vacuum regularly, keep dog's feet wiped off when they come in and are muddy. For fleas, give a warm bath once per month, and find some garlic and wheat germ tablets (they can be found at the pet food place) and feed one tab daily with food. The garlic is good for dog coats and fleas hate it. Wash dog bed regularly, and you will find that having a dog for a partner is the best thing you have done for yourself and your new friend!
Thanks for taking a needy dog into your heart and home!
