I have a problem, I have a rescued Doberman female. I have had her since Nov. she was kept in an uncleaned horsestall, and was bred at her first heat. I have had dogs literally since the day I was born, but this dog has me stumped, she wants me up with her every night. The nights we have actually spent in bed asleep since she has been here can easily be counted on one hand. She is a great dog in the daytime, but at night, she is "something else" she "sleeps" and I use the term lightly, with me, but she will wake me within 2 hours of going to bed. I have tried withholding food and water for a few hours before bed, let her out faithfully right before bedtime, have had her checked by the vet, she seems healthy in every respect except her wanting me up with her all night. I have also tried, turning out all the lights, end even putting her on lead. I am sleepy, does anyone have any ideas of how to help this poor dog get it that night time is for sleeping???? Also, as soon as it starts getting dark, she starts, pacing, and barking literally at nothing. The place where she came from is absolutely NO help, and will not answer any emails from me regarding her life before coming to live with me. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
