My cat is about 4 years old. She is a long-hair calico and stays inside. She wouldn't know what to do outside! A friend of mine used to live on a farm and someone dropped off a whole litter with the mother. She was one of the kittens. Oh, yea, her name is Bean. She has a stuffed animal (it's a moose) that she stalks and attackes!

Your cat sounds so pretty I love calico cats and black ones too. I have had cats almost all of my life. We had lots of cats when we lived on the farm and when we moved to town we brought one of the mother cats that we were all attached to. Later we keep one of her babies who was pure black, He was a great cat.
both of these cats moved with us when we moved from southern Ill. to Des Moines, Iowa. It was a long ride for them. They didn't act like it affected them at all. We lost the son one morning when we let him out and he met up with a couple dogs. sally the mother lived for over 20 years. She was a wonderful cat but veru independent

After I was married we got cats as soon as we were in a place that allowed pets. We have had many cats as our children grew up. Some were very special and others just were a part of our family. I hope we are never with out our cats as we move into housing that will accommodate handicapped.

Comtinue to enjoy you cats everyone.

It figures that the night that I share about my kitty being part of the family she drives us crazy!! At 4:30am we heard the blood-curling screach! We are in a ground floor apartment with a sliding glass door onto a patio. A stray cat was outside on the patio. Bean was freaking out!! She hissed and snapped at DH. The stray wasn't paying any attention to her. She is fixed so I don't think the stray was doing anything but checking things out.

We moved our cat 7 hours and she did had a struggle with digestion and more hairballs for weeks afterward. The vet said when cats are under stress they shed more. I didn't know that.

Hi,

I have one indoor cat that loves to curl around DH's head at night. She allows us to sleep on "her" bed at night. She goes out only on a dog runner in the back yard. We also have a dog, 2 parakeets and an "over the winter" visiting baby snapping turtle. The dog is scared of everything including his own shadow which of course is his name. The dog and cat get along very well most of the time but they have their moments. The thing that gets me is that both of them will ignore their own food, but as soon as my back is turned they will eat the others. I've had to put the food down in seperate rooms. But we love them anyway.

Laura

It sounds like we all have wonderful cats that mean so much to us. They say that petting cat can do so much good for your health. Not just lowering blood pressuer but ither things to right now I am having a senior moment and can't remember what they are.

Do any of you have a good treatment for fur balls?

A funny thing that my littlest kitten has started doing. she gets under our bed on her back and uses her claws to pull herself across to the other side. she also likes to push the only box that is under the bed with her head. She buts it like a goat until it is out from under the bed and after she has played with it a while she pushs it to the side of the bed. So far she hasn't pushed it back under the bed but I wouldn't put it past her. she is something else. They say we won't have her for very long so we think she is trying to get everything done while she is here. It is so much fun to watch her discover something new to do.

Hope you all are having a geat day

Hairballs

I use any brand of treats that are for hairballs. What ever I have a coupon and/or good sale. I used to get the stuff that is thick gooy paste in a pump. She used to lick it off my finger. Then she started refusing it so I would rub it on her paw. She would flick her paw and it would end up every place - even the ceiling!

I have noticed that she also eats some of my Spider Plant right before she coughs up a hairball!

We have 2 cats and a feral stray

I think it's pretty normal to feel like the animals don't belong in the house when you have a baby. I mean not everyone feels that way obviously but a lot of new mothers do. I think maybe it's the cavewoman's protective animal instinct in us to keep wild critters away from our babies! Opinions on my theory anyone?

PR I kind of agree with you on wanting to protect our babies from the danger of wild animals. Mothers want to protect their children from any danger. And it makes since that it started back in the cave man era.

Aren't we lucky that someone decided to tame a cat? !!
I don't know what I would do with out my babies. It looks like we are going to have to give up our home and move into housing that is handicapped accesssible. I am so afraid that what we find will not allow pets. To think of giving up these babies is awful.

Hi,
I have 3 indoor cats. They are all females and their names are Whiskers (almost 2 yrs old), Midnight (2 yrs old) and Chelsea (almost 15 yrs old) I always had a cat when I was growing up. I just love them. They all have their own individual "quirks". I consider them my other "kids" ( I have one daughter). Well just wanted to state that I am, and I will always be, a cat lover!!! LOL
Take care,
MJ :-)
