Dog Food

Our dog loves Science Diet. It has also kept her at a healthy weight.

After trying Hill's, Iams, Science Diet, private labels, etc., I finally found a food that doesn't make ANY of my dogs sick.

In fact, it's got a great list of ingredients--not wheat, corn, rice, all those overused fillers. It's Flint River Ranch, and it's shipped via UPS from the vendor to my door, which means it doesn't sit for untold lengths of time on some warehouse shelf.

Here's what's on my order form:
FRR H660

Good luck!

Does anyone feed a Greyhound Dog? I was wondering if there is a food they like better than others. Food is not a high priority for her...but trying to be a lap dog is! She loves to be close, all the time! lol

Feeding your dog

We have a seven year old Golden Retriever that thinks the world revolves aroung her ( and it does).
We have fed her Diamond Dog food which our vet reccomended to us. She has done very well on it & they have many kinds to fit your dogs situation. Puppy food, better coat, low fat diet, or maintenance.
It does cost more, but is worth it!
We have been through two surgeries with our dog. She has torn the ACL in both her rear legs, (yeah just like an athelete). We might be the only one with a handicap ramp on our deck for our dog.
I have had to have surgery on my knee & might have to have it replaced. When they asked about steps to get into our home, I said "No problem I can use the dogs ramp". The Dr couldn't believe it. I said you have to know my dog & the status she has in our house, which is #1.
If you love an animal you have to be a good person!

There is NO question that if our dog needed a ramp, she would get one! She is a member of our family and is treated as one!

But I did get a laugh when you said you told your doctor about the ramp. I can only imagine the look I would get from my own doctor if I had to tell her my dog had a ramp!

Our vet would not be surprised at all at our family doing such a thing!

No love like it

There is no love like your love for a dog right!
You should have seen me when they told me the first time the dog had to have the surgery. I was always the one saying "wwe will NOT invst a fortune in a dog" I started crying so hard the vet felt so bad for me he offered to do the surgery & I pay as I could. He is such a sweetheart, I would trust my dog to no one but him.
Animal lovers are the BEST!

I have a Greyhound and she eats Natures Recipe which I get at Petco or Petsmart. The adoption agency I adopted her from recommended that. I was very pleased to find out that was recommended over the all the store brands. We do put a couple bites of what we're eating in her food and she devours it! I am also considering the Flint River Ranch.

Be very Careful what you feed!

I currently feed my dogs Canidae. It is a premium brand made with human grade ingredients. I am including some links for you to read up on pet food. Some of this information is not for the squeamish. You will be appalled by what some companies use in their pet food to make it cheaper to buy. If they sell it in a supermarket... DONT BUY IT!!! Purina is the worst culprit of all. They use roadkill and shelter kills in the food!! This is not a joke. I hope that you will do some research and see what I am talking about.

Again, I am sure that there are many more informative places to read up on pet food ingredients etc out there on the web. But this I what I've compiled by reading posts on various dog newsgroups. The food that I feed my pets is not cheap, but they are part of my family and I would not buy my kids cheap food that wasn't healthy just to save some money so I treat my pets with the same respect.

My dog (a chow) became a picky eater after we lost our other dog. I found that she really likes Kibbles n Bits (any flavor) and I put a spoonful of canned dog food with it and mix it in. This got her to start eating again and she has been fine ever since.

Now I have a question for you to has anyone of you heard of the BARF plan for dogs and cats to
