How do you prevent your pets from climbing your Christmas tree?

Do you worry about your pets around the holidays? How do you prevent them from climbing your tree?

Our cat looked at it the first year, and we gave a spray of water. We put only non breakable and ones we could bear to lose on the bottom of our tree. Now, the cat is waaaay to big to climb anything! but he does love to play at the bottom.

That was our cat too.. she broke a few antique ornaments before we figured out she could see her reflection in the balls and that's what she was batting at.

Our dogs (fingers crossed we have 2 new puppies in the house) so far have shown no interest in the tree. Of course I don't leave them unattended in the front room for any length of time either.

Our younger cat likes to sit beside the tree and bat at the ornaments. That became a big pain in the butt. Our older cat just slept under the tree the entire time it was up last year.

One year we had to tie our tree to the walls because our cat kept climbing it and pulling it over.
