Yes Lucy has babies (stuffed animals). I'll have to post the basket of them. They all have names and she knows which is which, Frenchy is the poodle, etc. I'll buy them at garage sales too. When I bring them home, she just knows they're for her.

Oh and when I lug the big bag of dog food in, she sees that and gets excited, she knows it's her food.

Shilo Shepard

This is a rare breed of shepards that can weigh 140 lbs. and their heads are about chest height. They come in long and short haired. Their heads and noses are longer and larger than a normal shepard. They come in different colours sable, grey, black and regular shepard colours. We have 3, 1 is a male short haired black, 1 is a female longhaired black and 1 is a more black/regular looking shepard. They are gentle giants. We have been told that there are only 2 breeders in Canada. When my kids take them for a walk people stop to stare. We love them.

oooh.....i'll have to look for some pictures of them. but for now i'll stay with my 100 pounders as they take up enough room in the house...

they do sound wonderful though. i'll be looking for my 'pets' magazine now!

if we weren't in the city...we'd be a formal zoo as welll... we also have a parrot and a beta with an attitude.

We have a total of 5 dogs and 6 gerbils. The dogs like to stand near the gerbil cages and if they notice that the gerbils seem to be sleeping they will bat the top of the cages to wake them up. The poor little things I swear are going to have a heart attack. They are also so big that they like to knock the squirrels off of our 6 foot fence as they go to the other neighbours.

good one.....birdo, who believes he should be the loudest voice on the block, gets most upset when remus, our 4 yr old male 'boom-box' gets beside him at the front window to voice his displeasure at the cats passing by.....he grabs remus' ear and nips but remus just shakes him off. needless to say it's just play because birdo could rip a piece out off his ear if he wanted to.
i once had a huskie who would compete with birdo for volume....the parrot would squawk and the dog would start to howl...then each would keep accelerating in volume and it was quite the show. i was tempted to film it for funniest home video's but you would need good sound to appreciate the quality of the interaction! i, for one, did not appreciate it when it got going! had to find ways to distract them with treats to break up the chorus.

critters....aren't they great?

I can't believe this thread has been dead for awhile.

As most people know, I cannot talk enough about my boys--especially Jet-Bo. These are the chihuahuas. Jet-Bo must be obsessive compulsive. Every night when he goes to bed he HAS to lick the sheets for about 15 minutes before he goes to sleep. LOL
