I am the proud new owner of 2 green anoles, Scaggy and Scooby. We have had them for about 1 month. I really enjoy them. Bought them for DS but they have turned out to be "family" pets.

Their tank is in the family room. I have enjoyed "fixing" it up for them. It has lots of beautiful flowers and foliage. They also have several large pieces of driftwood for basking and climbing. They have 2 thermometors to monitor heat and humidity. The basking light maintains a temp of about 90 on one side and the other side stays about 70-75 in the daytime. They can't maintain body temp so you have to provide them with a place to warm up/cool down. They require misting 2-3 times daily and have to be fed live insects or worms. I love to watch them hunt their food.

We also have a small dog named Shorty. I LOVE this dog. We have had him about 2 years and he was about 6mnths old when we got him. He is the best dog I've ever had. We adopted him from a PALS foster parent. He looks like a mini golden retriever. Honestly! I have more people ask me what kind of dog he is. His head, body, tail, and coloring look like a golden retriever or yellow lab and his legs look like corgy or basset. He is very cute.

I think animal testing is a bad idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers!!

Nice to see this thread revived a bit. We are much more comfortable with our rats. No more nipping, much more playing. Now I have also adopted my nephews hamster. Garfunkle is a long haired syrian black eared hamster. Just plain adorable...although not as intelegent as the rats. He can be quite amusing.

I have common pets now dog, bird had fish.
Have had guinea pigs, the boys have had mice.

As a kid my oddest animal was a pair of ferrets, we had 2 and used to use them for rabbiting.
Darn those ferrets can bite and I still have the scars to prove it LOL

I used to always have guinea pigs as a kid, we had them when the kids were younger but haven't had any in several years now. However, after going to the fair yesterday and looking at all the 4H goodies and animals, I think we may get a rabbit or a guinea pig and Dominic can take care of it for 4H. He hasn't joined before but I've always wanted him to.

We have a medium sized Border Collie named Fiona and a orange and white tabby cat named Boomer. They both came with their names. Boomer was adopted as a kitten from the humane society and Fiona was a dog was left in a neighborhood when people moved and the neighbors wanted to give her away as they already had a dog. Fiona was gotten as a puppy.

Hope everyone has a great day.
