I have a big wicker basket sitting on my end stand that Marble likes to get into and chew on the handles. To stop this, my DH wrapped masking tape around the handle where he was chewing and it seems to have stopped him.

I am going to try you suggestion of clear packing tape. If it worked for the basket, hopefully it will work on this too.

Thanks Robin!

I finally got out the squirt bottle yesterday. You should've seen his face when he got the first shot! If he could've talked, I would've gotten an earfull!!
LOL I have a spray bottle in one end of the house and the other since we have a cat that will be 2 in December. She is still very energetic. I like the clear tape idea. I never even thought of that when we first got our cats.

Is there a window over your kitchen sink? Most cats like to look out windows. I had one cat that insisted on looking out the window over my kitchen sink. The two cats I have now are happy looking out the other lower windows and the bottom part of the French doors that go to the back yard.

One of my cats is a Siamese mix and when she was a kitten she wanted to jump up on everything but it was more because of her curiosity and wanting to see what I was doing when I was washing dishes or doing something that was higher than she could see, so I gave her a chair that was high enough for her to see and that seemed to satisfy her. I never used a water bottle. I just said a firm "no" and both my cats know what that means. Neither one of the cats I have now are allowed on the kitchen table or counter and they obey that. I use a lot of fleece throws over the soft furniture so I can just throw them in the washing machine.

Okay I admit it; we have spoiled cats! LOL We when had our log home built I had transom windows put it at the bottom of my two front windows. They start one log up from the floor; they are so the cats can see out! LOL No kidding, when I had the builder order them the window company thought he put the order in wrong and sent the ones that assemble on top of the regular window, so when he called and told them what I was doing they had to ask why at the bottom. When he told them they were my cat windows they roared with laughter!

Something that all our cats have loved is newspapers, paper bags, and plastic bags. We stretch out a newspaper on the floor or one of the bags. The cats love to climb under or in them. Then, we rattle the paper or plastic. They love it.
