I am getting a trap in the morning. I left all of my backyard lites on all night and my bro suggested leaving the pool sweep on to scare - which I did as well.

There are other ducks. Her sister is here too. Her name is Speck. Miss Runtie was just special. I know this sounds weird, but I have never seen a duck that was so perky and happy.

Miss her madly~ Thanks....

J~

I caught something. It was either a very large mouse or a small rat. Nothing that could have possibly killed Miss Runtie. I let it go.

Tonite is another nite....

Jodi, I hope you catch him tonight. We caught a Groundhog and her baby last Summer. They ate a lot from my garden. My dh let them go 3 miles from here, in the woods. It did take us about a week to catch them. ......Good Luck...Keep me updated....Hugs....

Some of you know that I lost a wild Muscovy duck, Ms. Runtie in April. On 7/19/09 her sister Mama Speck, came to the same demise. I took her eggs, and put them in a basket. They are starting to hatch. I have 4 active eggs at this writing, and am praying that Mama Speck's life (barely over a year old) was not led in vain.

Keep your fingers crossed everyone. I am prayful that I will have some baby duckies soon!

Weekend greetings -

J~

Thanks Lauri~! I took them outside at 6:30am so they could start to work when the sun came up. They are out there working hard to break free! Please keep your fingers crossed for them~
