Pasta and Broccoli

1lb chunky pasta (rigatoni,penne,etc)
1lb fresh broccoli florets
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 Tbls olive oil
5 cloves of garlic (I think I will cut back a little on this)

cook pasta accorking to package directions. While pasta is cooking, mince garlic and combine in a large bowl with the oil and grated cheese. Two minutes before the pasta is done, add the broccoli florets. Drain the past and broccoli and mix well with the ingrddiets in the bowl. If desired add cooked shrimp or chicken!

Shawn~~~ This is my family favorite for years. Mom loves it when I make it for her when she visits. Brings back memories of when my father cooked it when we were young. I like to add the water from fresh broccoli when I mix it with the pasta. Shame to throw away all those vitamins. I add the garlic with broccoli when cooking. It gives it more flavor and garlic is softer cooked. Tastes good even without the grated cheese. Can sprinkle some on top later if watching calories.

This is one of my DS's favorite meals. He loves any kind of pasta with olive oil or butter on it. Then I can throw anything else into it too and he will eat it.

Boy, Im getting hungry reading all of these recipes!
