Easy-to-Stuff Manicotti

EASY-TO-STUFF MANICOTTI

as posted by Lizzie-boo in WFD 11/05:

1 pkg. (8 oz.) manicotti shells
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 jar (26 oz.) spaghetti sauce
14 pieces string cheese (mozzarella)
1 1/2 cups (6 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese

Cook manicotti according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet or saucepan, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the spaghetti sauce. Spread half of the meat sauce into a greased 13x9 baking dish.

Drain manicotti; stuff each shell with a piece of string cheese. Arrange in the baking dish over the meat sauce; top with the remaining sauce. Cover and bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 5 to 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
